Why Kennedy Agyapong's 'Yam Festival' presents were rejected by Togbe Afede
On Friday, September 9, 2022, it came to light that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, had given some gifts to the Asogli State's residents in honor of their participation in the annual Yam Festival. However, Togbe Afede XIV, the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, had rejected some of the gifts.
According to a graphic internet post, after the MP's gift was declined, the sub-chiefs and elders at the Asogli State Palace in Ho-Bankoe made it obvious to him that the Agbogbomefia was not willing to take any form of tribute from him.

Kennedy Agyapong showed up with his entourage at the Asogli Palace in Ho-Bankoe to pay respects to the Chiefs and residents of the Asogli State, as he would at any other festival after receiving an official invitation from the Asogli State Council to participate in the Te Za (Yam Festival).
At that point, the Paramount chief was seated in State in the forecourt of the Asogli State Palace, but he was not permitted to do so.
When his things were denied by the Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Agyapong—who was then seated next to the Volta Regional NPP Chairman, Kafui Woanya—was observed waving at a portion of the audience who were at the durbar grounds and leaving the palace.
