Godfred Yeboah Dame has stated that Aisha Huang would face legal action for both her earlier crimes and not recent ones.
When Ghana's government chose to extradite galamsey mastermind Aisha Huang to China in 2018, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah, the minister of information, said he was unsure if she had been escorted out of the country.
There has been no evidence from the state authorities that the galamsey kingpin was accompanied by a Ghanaian state official and duly turned her over to the Chinese officials four years after Aisha Huang was deported, it has come to light.
The 'notorious' galamsey kingpin was indeed repatriated from the country, according to the Ofoase-Ayirebi MP, who was speaking to Accra-based Joy FM on Tuesday, September 13. However, he currently "has no brief" that suggests there was an escort on that journey.
"I am not saying they are not available, but in the brief I have, they are not, in the brief I have, those particulars are not available,"
The brief I have includes information about the flight, including its departure from Accra and its transit through China to reach its destination. She was on board. That is the summary I have, the summary I will share with you, and the summary you can confirm... … I lack responses to these questions in the brief I have.
"The President was not speaking in a vacuum. The President began by saying that he was unsure whether the inquiry was about deportation or whether the woman had left, but that the important thing is this, and he then went on to give the important response.
"I've seen a lot of critics say that the President should have been more explicit in his statements, etc. In a democracy, we can undoubtedly dispute the use of certain phrases, he continued.
